Door sticker GVWR vs. Centurion dually conversion?

Bronco graveyard has a rotor conversion for our sterling 10.25 but it costs around $1,100.

My 1985 F350 Lifted CC diesel dually build

I’ll try the wire wheel and hope that does the trick as I really don’t have the extra time to get them off! I didn’t notice any pitting so I think it should be good.

    Are these rusty rotors ok?

I didn’t notice any pitting so I think I’ll just use a wire brush on it. Right now time is the most valuable resource as we don’t currently have a running vehicle so I need to get this project on the the road!

My 1985 F350 Lifted CC diesel dually build

Also got a 12 inch LUK clutch upgrade kit and everything for brakes: booster, master cylinder, hard and flex lines drums, cylinders, shoes and hardware, calipers, and pads. The rotors are back ordered but if I decide to reuse the ones on there I’ll cancel them.

My 1985 F350 Lifted CC diesel dually build

The leak in the radiator is just transmission fluid which I will not have to worry about as I am going with a manual!

My 1985 F350 Lifted CC diesel dually build

Got the Dana 60 and radiator pulled this weekend! I’m wondering if I should consider reusing the rotors as they have virtually no wear on them but are pretty rusty?

    Dana 60 going in...eventually

Subscribed! I’m working on my 4x4 conversion with Dana 60 swap too though a bit differently!

    Are these rusty rotors ok?

I’m swapping my Dana 60 off a parts truck over to my 2wd project truck. I’m going ahead and getting new calipers and pads but not sure if I will even be able to remove these rotors. There is almost no wear on them so I’m guessing they were still new when the truck was parked. Do y’all think...

My 1985 F350 Lifted CC diesel dually build

So now that Summer is over I can get back to work on this! I got the rear end installed Saturday! For now I just used the blocks without the overloads and hopefully next year I’ll go with full lift springs. I have to work next weekend but the following Saturday I’m going to try to get a...

    New vs used fan clutch

Sounds good! I now considering wether to go without the fan for now at least until I need to do some heavy towing in the mountains.

    New vs used fan clutch

My fan clutch is completely locked up on my 1993 f350 7.3. I do have a 1985 6.9 idi engine for parts but don’t know whether I should use the fan off it or just go ahead and buy a new one. How much resistance should the fan have with engine off to know whether it’s any good or not?

    What gauges would you install?

Just for fun, if someone wanted a gauge for everything, how many types could they have? I can think of Amp, coolant temp, oil pressure, voltage, boost, EGT, engine oil temp, transmission temp, rear diff temp, vacuum, filter vacuum, lift pump pressure, intake air temp, air pressure if you have a...

    Thermostat housing

If I just refill that hole will that solve my issue? I wasn’t having any problems before my water pump went out.

    Thermostat housing

It’s just an advanced auto but it looks exactly like the one I took out.its possible it old one may have had a bleeder Which could be why the PO had removed the cork/bearing and filled the hole with RTV.

    Thermostat housing

Well I can’t get my engine up to temp anymore now that I’ve replaced my water pump and thermostat. Thermostat is 190 and looks identical to the one I took out. I figure it’s either got to be me clearing that hole causing it to bypass the thermostat or a bad fan clutch.

    Thermostat housing

So... I found that the PO has filled that hole in the thermostat housing with RTV for a reason. The coolant is now bypassing the thermostat. The thermostat housing is no longer available at parts stores or through a ford dealership so I’ll have to pull one off one of my parts trucks. I read...

    What's a 1990 IDI worth?

If you decide to part it out, I might be interested in the turbo kit.

    Stuck on water pump change

I’ve been working late all week and finally am getting back to this this evening. Your trick worked! Along with a 6’ cheater pipe and all 155 lbs of me lol! When I pulled the pump, there is a lot more corrosion than I am used to seeing. Is this normal for these engines or do I need to be...

    Sad (sort of funny tho)

I once ran out of fuel right as I pulled up at the pump. After I filled up the tanks and the fuel filter I drained my batteries trying to reprime it. I my jumpers hooked up to a truck of a guy who boasted he was a Cummins diesel mechanic. He just could not get the concept that these have a...

    Stuck on water pump change

So... I tried heating the nut with the torch and used a 3’ cheater pipe on both the wrench and the screwdriver and the nut never budged.
