alright the bolts are shot and the heads have broken off some of them already so im going to order some stainless bolts tomorrow when i get to the shop. what size and length do i need?
yea I never knew how much of a search it could be for a manifold and the crossover pipe! if no one close has the manifold i guess ill be buying it from someone from oregon.
well I went to my local auto parts store to get a new exhaust manifold for the pass side and the pipe that goes from it to the turbo and i was told that they couldn't find it anywhere which i found strange. also Im definitely going to need all new bolts for it since there so rusted. Dosen't Ford...
Well i found someone locally in North Jersey who I feel is qualified to rebuild this slush box. Fisher Transmission in Fairfield NJ. He gave me a printed out list of upgrades he does to the trans. a rebuilt converter with twice the clutch surface and fully brazed fins. With a one year 24,000...
yea ive been soaking the manifold bolts with PB blaster on my truck for a few weeks now. does anyone know what size socket the bolts on the manifolds are? mine are so rusted i can't get anything to fit good on them.
its ok wasen't my truck lol after me and his son made sure he was ok we laughed our asses off caues he was standing there frozen in front of the truck with the either can in his hand and a blackened face. looked like a cartoon. the owner of the truck though didnt think it was to funny :rotflmao
I HAVE WALKED INTO A SHOP JUST AS THE SOMEONE SPRAYED EITHER INTO THE INTAKE AND THE GLOW PLUGS WORKED! I would never use either on a diesel unless It was mine and i know the glow plugs are not even hooked up to the relay! sorry but I watched as a good friend of mines father who is an old school...
I had the same issue as you and lastnight I got home from work took the factory sending unit off the turbo like where your's is and put in a Autometer gauge. truck has 18psi at idle and on the highway at 2000 rpms has 44psi. its a big relief knowing that i was worried over that crappy factory gauge
with the right amount of time and money you can put anything in anything. I took a 87 Ford Mustang notchback and put a Buick Grand National motor in it. took another mustang and put a big block chevy in it. there is a guy in my area that has a old military dodge powerwagon with a 7.3 powerstroke...
I notice you live in alaska. how cold is it out when your trying to start it? do you plug your truck in overnight? make sure your relay is working for the glow plugs and your getting power to all the plugs.
well Ive had tons in the bed of the truck and it hauls great but the rake look is def not for me im 26! my generation makes fun of the air shock rake look lol. I wasent sure if it did have lift blocks in the front or not cause I know i dont have any up front. I was prob going to add another...
Did the ford F-250 come with lift blocks in the front from the factory? cause im getting real tired of the huge rake my truck has. the rear of the truck is 8" higher then the front and I see there are no lift blocks up front on my truck.
the front fender is only 4 inches higher then the top of...
call me crazy but yea i did have this idea while i was working on the truck in my shop but dismissed it as "yea right" i even had the cap off just so i could hear the fuel bubble.
im so fed up right now i think i might just go out to the truck right now and try it.
Its full. funny part was when i blew air threw the lines to the tank to see if i can hear bubbles in it, fuel started comming out of the return line. i let 3 gallons come out of it.
is it at all possible that the truck dies when i switch to the rear tank cause there is alot or air traped in...
UPDATE!
UPDATE! I disconnected the lines from the sending unit on the rear tank and used rubber hose to make them longer and put them into an clear empty 1 quart paint mixing cup up filled with diesel. started the truck on the front tank then switched it to the rear tank. the truck kept running...
