I really like those dash lights. Question: does the dimmer feature still work with LED dashlights?
I think we all need another pic zoomed out a bit to see that steering wheel.......
After a brief hiatus, I am going to try to get back into snowmobiling. I love the MidWest, but I do hate trailering in the winter, especially if you have nice stuff getting pelted with salt and debris on your trailer. This is particularly hazardous with a dually. I like the functionality of...
If you ask nicely, there's an automatic trans expert on here who will give you the list of all best updates/upgrades/suppliers based on experience. I'm betting you've been on here long enough to figure out who that is, but if not I can point you towards him, or at least give you a hint until...
You may have already updated your UVCH, but if you haven't you should strongly consider updating to the newer single pigtail versions as they are much, much better. Lots of horror stories about lower quality brand new UVCHs causing innermittent drivability issues. It's a little bit of work to...
+1 for lockup converter/E4OD over the GV. The E4OD is not the best automatic transmission ever made, but you can build one to take anything your IDI will throw at it.
I'll throw in .02 here: the selector valves seem to always fail due to the actual fuel valve malfunctioning. You can call it age, you can say they are typically contaminated with bits from the showerheads and/or anything that made it's way into your fuel tanks (perhaps algae helping you out)...
The only proper way to work on a van is with the body off :joker:
Seriously: 4x4 vans are awesome ;Sweet and I would consider the IDI 4x4 van the most awesomest :hail They are and held in high regard by fly fisherman who want to get into the backwoods and stand up in the back while they...
^ what Double S said above, very available in Motorcraft and other aftermarket junk:

You know I never thought the electric fuel pump topic could get unearthed again, but this is a very good thread with some genuinely new information and hardware. Keep in mind that I haven't owned an IDI since just after Covid but I do have a fair amount of gasoline fuel system background.
i...
I don't know if this is an option or not as I'm not very familiar with vans, but on my old race car I upgraded to an aluminum radiator that had the same height and width, and had a very capable welded move the ports in the end cap to fit my car. It might not be that simple, but if you can find...
I've grenaded the shock tensioner and the closed style (one of each). When I grenaded the closed one, it was actually under warranty as I bought it from the dealer (many moons ago, I'm guessing 2008ish) so they gave me a new one. What they didn't give me was a new idler, which got damaged when...
Found out that a TRX400 quad and a PW80 dirtbike fit in the back of my dually, even with the camper top on. I have a two bike hitch carrier, and I have a trailer, but it's kind of nice not to use either of them
By the way, if you've never used the tri-fold arcing ramp, way better than...
I do not believe you can replace the individual solenoids, but I believe this is the part where trackspeeder (the resident automatic transmission Ninja) will chime in with a legitimate answer from a genuine subject matter expert.
So this truck sold for $10.5K. I probably should have done this with my Centurion truck and sold it on Bring A Trailer as I believe it was even more period correct, and I had almost as much original paperwork, with no bodywork or respray like this one that just sold. I really figured somebody...
I ran my red & white truck for more than a year without a cooling fan at all. The only fallout I had was you had to pay attention to when you could run the a/c. If it was really hot out you could not just let it idle with the a/c on blast, but as long as you were moving at 10+ MPH, no...
IMNSHO: Single cab duallys do not get enough love. They haul, tow and maneuver really well, and as a current crew cab and past extended cab owner, the percentage of time that the back seat has nobody in it is far greater than 51% of the time.
Great looking rig and nothing but respect for...
No idea why that doesn't work. Try going to www.parker.com and putting DC603-4 in the "What can we help you find?" search field. I promise the drain valve works better than the link I attached.
I vote for black or grey accessories. I would consider doing the valve covers in a different color along with the accessories, but that's just my preference.
Looking good, and nobody can say your engine bay looks too "cookie cutter".
So my shifter selector started feeling a little "less positive" than it used to, and it might just be old/worn, but I figured I'd take a look at it and it seems like it should be closer to lever rather than out on the end of the mount. I looked all over the internet for installed pics but all I...
