    I have a Tach-n-Time, and both mag pickup and timing light. After I put in a fresh engine I had the timing all over the place. I finally settled on a spot that happens to be no rattle after warm up. I could have done that without all the gear.

    what coolant do you use and why?

    I use water and the red diesel stuff that makes water wetter and takes care of the cavitation issue. Walmart, I am on the road and don't have the brand name with me. I am in the desert at 3K feet and the temp doesn't get below 20f long enough to freeze the block.

    When I put the IDI in place of the 460, it appeared the chassis had been designed for the IDI, and adapters were added for the 460. So installing the IDI consisted of using the IDI mounts and discarding the 460 adapters.

    I did it. Mileage went from 10 to 15. But it took a turbo to make it right.

    I have several of those pumps. They are available from several sources at several prices. They have a thin, stamped, deformed cover. If it doesn't leak on day one it soon will. I am going to make a machined cover and see if that makes it reliable.

    I have a 1/2 inch line to a scavenge pump, then a 3/8 line to the oil filler housing. If I remove the filler cap I can see the oil being returned. I installed it in 2014 and have 38K miles on it. There are some pics here. https://goo.gl/photos/LJNV4esgmYmSzKdL8
