    I have a usshift controller on my vanbulance. It's way better than stock for understanding what's going on in the trans. Pretty happy with it.

    Yes, I'd start by checking the wiring from the tach pick up on the IP gear housing, then change that pickup. Maybe, first check your grounds.

    Mine is a standard civilian ambulance, loads of outside storage which intrudes on the inside. We use it for overnight road trips, and for grocery runs, so that works for us.

    I've been running a Walbro FRB-13 for a while in the old brown truck. The truck died recently, and I've been waiting for warmer weather to mess with it. I have assumed the pump is still working, I can hear it clicking, at least.

    I like that. My aunt had a green Mercedes of that vintage, back when they were new. I have a soft spot in my head for them, but haven't found one of that era yet. Probably just as well, I have way too many projects as it is. Congratulations on a really nice find!

    Bart, I use Napakool additive in Napa green coolant. I'll try to get you part numbers this evening. You might not be able to get that stuff over there, but reading the info on it might help you figure out what you're looking for.

    I left a trickle charger on it all week, and when I went to start it there was no problem. I need to work on other things, so I'm going to hope that the batteries just had a surface charge before, and a deep charge fixed it.

    Here's a picture. It's inline, long, reaches almost to the motor mount. Pretty sure it's direct drive. Other vehicles usurped its place in the shop this weekend, I'll try to get it in there Friday.

    I've used their cleaner and contact enhancer on electronics before, never thought of using it on power stuff, but I'm sure it would work.

    We don't do salt up here much, but I'll definitely try cleaning it down to bare metal, no downside to that. Thanks.

    I have 9 pickups that could be good runners, plus a couple of parts trucks that aren't in the signature. That's several years of projects right there. Probably going to tell management if they don't change their ways I'm leaving in July.
