Make it mouse proof!
Check Craigslist while you're up there, there's a high concentration of Honda 3 wheelers in that area...... might want a trailer.....
I promise not to mention 3 wheelers or broncos in this message.......if cupholders come up it will be purely incidental. Knight Rider might come up because we watched or weekly episode of Knight Rider last night "A Good Knights Work" to be exact. And if you watch the episode "Speed Demons"...
"NEED" is a big word really, it's all based on a "WANT", if he "WANTS" his truck to start then he "NEEDS" 2 batteries.....or better yet, a manual transmission and a "tow buddy".
But seriously, you're on the right track, it takes a BUNCH of spinning to get it to initially fire. After that, as...
These are the unanswered questions we live with on the forum.......try not to loose sleep over it, though it is hard sometimes..... especially when the OP title is in all caps....
Ahhhhh, yet another problem with the C6 on our wonky engines...... even with an E4OD you can get it rolling, tap your brake, and wink at your neighbor just before you turn on your left turn signal, pull it into drive and yell "yeeeee....haaaaaa....." Causing the torque converter to lock up and...
I love it, keep us posted on your findings. I run on waste oil, so there's no way it would fire this side of hell without ether(and NW Florida is a similar zip code to hell FYI)....I gave up on glow plugs firing oil too.
Yeah, that's the glow plug controller on the back of the engine.
These engines need glow plugs even if it's 100F in the shade, or if your glow plugs are disabled, give it a puff of ether on the air filter.
Another thing that is better than spinning it with the starter is to have a buddy pull...
You're just gonna have to get under there and and start diddling.
I messed around and figured out which 2 things to jumper so I know what's in my rear tank, which is the only one that matters to me. My returns go to the rear and my front tank is clean diesel for shut down with no return going...
It's called "M@M investment cars"........i saw a truck that's worth driving but I didn't see any "investment vehicle", was there a bronco or Corvette parked behind it? I like our trucks, but they're not "investments".
Keep me posted! I'm actually using rattle cans to do KITT. I've been meaning to update my knight rider thread.
I'm getting a feel for it though. In the fall when we have a few weeks of dry weather, I'm going to start doing filler in the problem areas, and spraying again until it's really...
I'm with this guy. Sleeving would be awesome, but $$$$$ woooooo..... so id save that money to buy an old Honda 3 wheeler and a "ought to run" 7.3 from a junkyard.
Most of us eliminate the factory one because it is basically "air intrusion central" after 40yrs. Some guys will actually "rebuild" it with new orings and seals.
Definitely a "metric ton", if only they had went a little farther and got a better transmission!
The reason some of those trucks are so immaculate is because nobody wanted to deal with the mismatched diesel to 3spd automatic.
My truck started life as a C6 with a gear vendor, that was miserable...
You're good. There's also the possibility of "cavitation" look in the back cylinders, typically #8, the one in front of the driver, and see if you can see anything that looks like a crack or little spots. If you don't use SCAs in your coolant on a 7.3, you're engine can make holes in the...
Yeah, to where he's looking for 1 specific person, there might be 3 people that you're looking for but really you're in the same boat......or should I say diesel van...... because of the price of diesel, there's just no benefit to owning a diesel anymore. Unless you want a super simple, reliable...
When I got my tow truck there was about an inch of not an inch and a half of a really stiff jello type substance on the bottom similar to the jello they served in public schools except it was grey.(Though I think they gave us grey jello from time to time at Milton High School to make us more...
