83 Dodge Ram 50 2.3 T/D into a 91 Ranger?

I just picked up a 83 Dodge Ram 50. It came with two extra complete engines and a bed full of misc. items. I'm thinking about putting one of the engines into my 91 Ford Ranger 4x4 Extra cab. These Ranger has the A4LD tranny with 3.73 gears. Any suggestions on this?

If I were in your shoes, that's exactly what I would do. I'd love to have a diesel Ranger.

From what I can find out the bolt pattern on the 2.3 T/D is the same as the 4.0 that is in my ranger. So in theory I should be able to bolt the motor right up to the existing tranny. Has anyone seen this done before in a 90's ranger?
