Ever since I got my short bus (94 E350, N/A 7.3 IDI, E4OD), the windshield washer squirters haven't worked. Anyone have thoughts on where to start looking? I assume the pump is mounted in the washer fluid tank? Is it likely dead, or more likely just a wiring issue? I don't hear any pump trying to run when I activate the switch or anything. This isn't a huge deal, but kinda a bummer when a bunch of dirt gets kicked up and I have to stop at a gas station to clean it and see...

Inside the washer fluid reservoir there's a tiny motor. Replace it.

When you activate the washer fluid switch you should hear a relay click inside the cab. No click you gotta replace the relay.

Also. Make sure fluid res has washer fluid in it.

Bought my replacement on Amazon. Works great.

Well what do you know... Went out to check for relay sound and look at where the pump is. Hit it a couple times, and it squirted! Hadn't really tried it much since I noticed it didn't work. Maybe something was just a little plugged up, or I have a loose wire or something, but for now it seems to work...

I had smiliar issue. Replaced the pump and worked perfect for a few days then no worky. Turned out to be a loose connection so I purchased a new connector through Autozone and no problems since. Also, Autozoned had the connector/plug indexed incorrectly in the computer system but I was able to look at their inventory online and visually match the plug.

My electric motor/pump was totally corroded and trash when it was removed so I put a bit of rtv sealant on the rubber seal to help it out in the cavity.

Good idea. I'm gonna roll with it till it fails again, then I'll check the relay and switch contacts, I don't remember if it was clicking before, its hard to hear with the motor running. Totally could have been a fouled up switch and I hit it enough to clean it up. Cruise control on my a4 didn't work when I got it until I flipped the switch on and off for 30 min straight on a drive to eat through the corrosion lol.
