MPG woes
I call b.s. on the 15-17mpg towing most trucks only get that empty. Your about right for a mostly stock truck towing. I think the down pipe will make a noticeable difference. A 4" exhaust and a 6637 napa air intake would be cheap upgrades until you can get a chip. But i really dont see it doing...- wpfd571

You should get on more of a powerstroke site like superdutydiesel.com or powerstrokenation.com (sorry guys oilburners is more of a idi site) and do some reading. I would stay away from the so called name brand tuners (Banks, Bully Dog, Diablo and Edge) I would look at custom tuners (Beans, DP, TWildman, Swamps etc.) they may cost more up front but you will be much happier in the end. The napa intake is just an open filter most think its just as good as the aftermarket kits, the filter is around 50 bucks and you just need a 4" piece of pipe to connect it to the stock rubber hose. I also did the napa intake (a good bang for the buck mod), 4" magnaflow turbo back exhaust with no muffler, 203 thermostat and a diablo preadator tuner on the 40 horse setting i get around 17 mpg and have seen 18 a few times in the summer in the winter its around 15 with the longer warm up time...- wpfd571
