If the bushings allow any play in the shaft, just go get a reman. The bushings are a real PITA to change if you can find them. For the labor you will use, you can go get another box cheaper.
IF you only need to replace the input shaft seal and the bottom seal they are pretty easy, but much...
I bought a rotunda timing light for 6.9 on ebay. I followed the directions, but I'm not sure what it's supposed to act like.
The truck is an 87 F250 4x4 with a 6.9 and 5 spd.
First off, the luminous probe leaks so I have to hold the sending unit on or the air blows it off.
I set it...
It's always the time that you took the tools out cause you were cleaning the truck and then you run somewhere for a quick trip that gets you. Not when you are 500 miles from the nearest town and you have every tool known to man and all the spares you'll ever need.
I ran into a set of four 19.5 steelies today. They have the old 8 bolt pattern on them to fit my 87 F250. Does anybody know where I can find some more like them without going brand new. Any ideas about what years motorhomes or whatever came with these? I hear UPS trucks had them. Any ideas...
Try any Napa or Big A or whatever type of parts stores you have that aren't Autozone/Pep-boys/Checker type. They are expensive on parts, but you can usually get just the disc. Autozone used to sell them seperately, but I don't know about now.
Mine had some kind of test oil in it. Stickers all over the case said to call an 800 # from some college in N.West somewhere. The fill and drain plugs were epoxied in, so I had to fill it through the shifter and drain it through the pto cover. I called the number but it didn't work anymore...
Loads can be moved with just about anything. How safely is another story. I hauled 12K lbs of scrap iron on a broke down flatbed with a 1970 Bronco with drum brakes several times. Not because I wanted to, but because I had no other way to put food on the table. I've run 28K lbs of grain in...
I think it's a lot harder to make it look professional than it sounds. I too, have the problem of not caring about looks. I wish I could take a pic for you of my setup but it's dark right now. I was thinking about doing something just like what you are talking about, but my girlfriend said...
I was thinking of a similar setup. My thought is that a step in the exhaust would create a vacuum at the point that I would put in the pipe. Since yours is all 3.5" it would be harder. I was thinking of going from the 3" downpipe to 4" pipe out the back and putting it right where the two...
Good luck and god bless. Today's treatments are much better than in the past. The best way to fight the dragon is knowledge. If he is only in one spot he's a lot easier to kill off. Read whatever you can and take the best of all the possibilities and combine them. The worst thing you can...
The 5.4's are a decent engine. I just hope they finally fixed the head gasket problems and the oil burning. As for the E4OD's and their replacements, I am tempted, but I'm still a little hot under the collar about my last E4OD that died every 20K miles.
That's what I get for buying the...
