1993 IDI Diesel questions
Great set up. I had a stock '94 IDI Turbo. I would consider looking at adding some heat shield to your intake pipe where it crosses the top of the motor to keep the incoming air cooler. Maybe it won't make enough difference but cooler air giving a better fuel burn is always better. I second...- troutwest66

My experience with cracking the system for any length of time is it needs to be flushed then run the vacuum pump. I changed the condenser on my '94 after seeing it had a hole in it and did not flush it. Several months later my compressor seized up so bad it smoked the serpentine belt. New...- troutwest66

7.3 serpantine belt swap
My '94 never had a belt issue. Doing the belt wasn't hard either. 15MM socket and a breaker bar is all you need plus the routing diagram if your memory isn't so good.- troutwest66

Anybody familiar with the IH version of this engine?

Is there a preffered engine oil for a 94 IDIT?
Another vote for the Delo 400 15w-40. I had a '94 for 14 years. Started out with Rotella for a bit with no problems but switched to Delo after a year or so and never had an internal engine issue.- troutwest66

Get scanned. If you still have the EGR the valve could be carboned up. Pull it and clean it. Replace with new seals from Ford. About $10.
