I think I've found one that will work. Dorman part 42344 apparently works. I'll have to pick one up. But oil is also leaking from the turbo pedestal, because I think my o ring went missing. Not sure where to get one of those.
No. This was a multi person project, and I didn't do that past. I'm guessing it's time to pull the turbo. It looks like the pedestal is of to one side of the grommet.
I just did head gaskets on my idi, and now there appears to be blow by coming from underneath the turbo. It also looks like the pedestal may be leaking oil. ATS turbo for those wondering.
The grommet in the valley pan was replaced. Not sure what's going on here. Any thoughts? Maybe just the...
I got the turbo off. I had to figure it out myself since apparently nobody knows how to remove these things. Well, I do now, and it sucks.
So am I going to have to remove all of the accessories minus water pump to remove the heads? It seems that way, but I'm not entirely sure.
Looks like...
I have removed the turbo bolts mounting it to the pedestal. I have removed all but two bolts to the down pipe elbow. I have removed two bolts holding the up pipe on.
I cannot remove the last 6 bolts to get the up and down pipes off.
The two on the back side of the up pipe, I can only get a...
Yeah, I hadn't gone there, but I apparently do have a good idea of what's going on based on what I observed.
So, I must remove those dang bolts most likely. Very annoying. Can't reach them for anything.
I can't get the back two bolts off of the up pipe. I can't reach one of them, and the other I can't get enough torque on. So I was hoping I could do it without dealing with the bolts, but it sounds like I wont be able to.
And so I need to unbolt the down pipe housing from the turbo?
Everything but the up and down pipes are separated. I'm not sure how to get them separated though. They seem to just slip together, but they aren't coming apart. I imagine they're full of carbon.
Any suggestions?
Well, I managed to pull the front two nuts from the up pipe, but getting to the back ones is going to be a challenge, and they weren't easy. I soaked them with penetrating oil and they still required some good torque to break them free. I can get my bent 9/16 back there but I don't really have...
I have a wrench I bent for the purpose, but my stupid bolts aren't 9/16" which is weird. Well, the up pipe bolts are, but not the mounting bolts for the pedastal oddly enough.
