I have not done this swap but, I just did a quick search in the diesel conversion forum ( http://www.oilburners.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?138-Diesel-Conversion-Forum ) and there are a few threads that discuss this type of swap. There are more than a few people that have done this swap so...
This should help you determine the different vehicle's that have the same size bed as your '85 trailer.

I don't have a factory turbo but with my NWG Banks, 3 inch downpipe to 4 inch straightpipe, exiting before the passenger rear tire = very little whistle. With the windows up I only hear the whistle when the boost is at 5+ psi. And even then it isn't very loud. At idle with my ear next to the...
I just replaced my thermocouple. Maybe my gauge is off but the most i have ever seen is 900 and that was with no intercooler. I only have the pump turned up 1 1/2 flats and the most exhaust smoke I see is a light gray color when loaded heavy pulling up hill. The intercooler lowered my egt's...
I did a lot of searching other posts/threads prior to installing my intercooler and I found the majority of other people tend to go with a 2 1/2" size so that is what I did. Looking at the clearance from my intercooler pipe (over the alternator) and the hood I don't think 3 inch would work in...
Yes the boots have bends in them and I used straight pipe. I got them from siliconeintakes.com. I don't remember the price exactly but they have prices on their website. When I was figuring out how to run the tubes I used empty paper towel rolls and masking tape to mock it up. By doing this...

'99 psd intercooler, 2 1/2" exhaust tubing (painted on both sides), silicone boots from siliconeintakes, PSD intake hat thanks to Ottoparts via Typ4.
Setup - all...

I bought a K type Theromcouple for mine. Make sure you get one that has the same diameter as the mounting hole. I don't remember the diameter. Hopefully someone else will chime in with that info if you need it.
The following mods are a few of the ones on my truck and rank high on the best ones I've done.

Banks turbo
PSD intercooler

Rear air bags
I don't mean to derail this thread but I can't hold it in any longer.
The Ax men show is a huge misrepresentation to the Logging industry. About 80% of the dangerous situations shown on TV is illegal under current Labor and Industries Standards. I personally know members of the browning...
I think I understand how you were looking at this situation. If Ice was a frictionless surface your thought process would be correct. But eventhough ice is slippery it is not frictionless. That being said the more drive tires you have on ice the more friction you create. More friction = more...
