    interior issues

As the truck was up on blocks waiting for the rims to get refinished, I noticed mold growing on the center console. I found a rainwater leak somewhere under the front of the center console/dash area that was flowing under the rubber flooring and sputtering up through the openings cut in the...

    Brake Job - drum

So... Attach the brake cable, push the top lever arm assembly (top picture) as far in as it goes... PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL IN Secure lever arm. Install drum. Drive in reverse and pump the brakes for 10 minutes. Save the Princess and bask in the glory of the day.

    Brake Job - drum

So I got my F250 and the brakes need done. Fine. Tear it apart. Put it together. Except cant find any documentation on the type of drum brakes I have and I cant get the Joint of the parking brake assembly (top image) to marry up unless I disconnect the parking brake cable (bottom pic). That...

    Oil filter removal problem

Resolution: The guy before me put on a super-sized oil filter and really cranked down on it during installation. I managed to find a XXL strap wrench at a local parts/tool store and had a go at it. It was one of those belt looking ones you use with a ratchet. Never seen that before. I had...

    Oil filter removal problem

First, it was the oil plug, which is now fixed. Now its the ******* filter. Apparently some idiot with the inteligence equal to a bag of hammers owned this truck before me. The oil filter is stuck. I've tried the oil filter wrenches and bands. I'm gonna guess that he didnt lube it before...

    Oil plug problem

The corrective action taken: After a lot of swearing and destroying plugs, I finally bought a tap & dye set. I tapped the hole with a 1/2 20 and the plug went in like it was straight out of the factory. The guy at NAPA told me it was a 14mm, but that was clearly too large. Problem solved...

    Oil plug problem

First action take on the truck was to change the oil and filter. The old plug was leaking so I figured I would need to change the gasket and plug. Simple enough. Three turns and the plug fell out with its gasket being a metal washer. Upon further inspection of the plug, the threats were...

    Restoration and preservation

Michael, How do you prep the area? I've read people go as far as stripping it to the bare metal and I've also heard of people just knocking the loose rust and dirt off. What method do you suggest? Thanks, Jon

    Point of no return project.

Tim, What's the deal with the cross beam in the bed? I was going to use 4 cargo straps at the corners to lift my bed out. Is your method prefered or is mine completely wrong? Thanks, Jon

    Restoration and preservation

I just picked up a 1994 F-250 7.3L IDI 4x4. The first step is to replace the brakes. The second step is to take off the bed and the front clip so I can begin the restoration and preservation process. I've been looking at a lot of "rust converters" and POR-15 seems to stand out as a solid...
