    Can anyone tell me if the '83 had 2 different alternators available. I tried to look up the part # on auto zones site but it doesn't list the amps. I'm just wondering if there were 2 available, if I got the wrong one. Or would this not matter. thanks Rob.

    How do I haul this motor without damage?

    The pan rails are 9 1/2" apart and from the back of the pan to the front of the pan is 26". You will have to remove the oil filter to be able to set it on your 2x12's. These engines are very top heavy, so like Darrin said get some good straps. Rob.

    I bought a 2000 lb stand from Cummins tools and it held the weight with no problem. The hardware that came with it looked a bit shady, so I got grade 8 hardware for it. I only paid around $80 or $90 for it. I do advise being extremely careful when turning the engine. Hope this helps. Rob
