Dont know why I thought of this earlier but lucky I checked back. I bet I still have the gears but I know I dont have any yokes. My bronco blew one out this summer and I discovered I didnt have any left.

Use the torque ring for the flywheel bolts and some 5/8 nuts or a big stack if washers on the bolts. Go slow and even and let it slide on gently. I like to add a thin coat of red or blue loctite to the crank to ensure a good seal because your going to cut it off anyway.

That is kinda how a c6 flex plate is. A heavy “flywheel” with holes and a thin flex plate that bolts directly against it. You reach through the holes to unbolt the converter

Now I could be wrong, and I have been wrong before but aren’t C8, C9 and D0 heads the same? CC are the same size and valves only changed for the thunder jet, cobra jet and allegedly the police interceptors

Then you will have to pull the engine out of the truck. It’s not that big of a job after you’ve done a few.
I’d suggest trying to seal it in the truck first. If it falls then pull the engine or cut a hole in the pan to get it out.
That’s good it worked out but I still would have expressed my opinion on how he should have called first. Heck I’ll call a customer if I find an option that would save them money vs the route we agreed on when they dropped it off.

If you have a spare set of lines to hook on your questionable pumps, just keep swapping them out and see how they run.
My best IP swap time ( new pump with all lines and fittings ready to go) was 18 minutes from start to engine start.
If you have a turbo add 10 minutes.
