Jets, air bleeds, badly set idle mix, float setting, weak ignition, etc etc My 76 F100 gets 11-12mpg if I baby it with a 390. you probably won't get too much better, but I'm sure you can get a lil better.- DeepRoots

Hehe, well heck that is worth something. I've got a thing for comfy full sized cars with absurd horsepower. Blackdog, I'm accepting donations of 427 blocks.... :P Honestly, I would have probably stuck a stroked 390 in there, but the car came with most of the engine, I couldn't justify spending two years saving money to build an engine that'd match the one that was in there. On another note.... you are looking for a truck with a 6.9, so presumably if it has an automatic, it is a c6 transmission. C6 Problems
Trackspeeder, this kit comes with all parts needed. For a beginner it is essential. If you already know how to rebuild a c6, you could probably save $50 getting just the parts you need.
