    Tranny problem/question 01 ram 3500 dually automatic

Hi, Thanks Big Red, I since visited a Mister Transmission and talked to a very helpful manager. He suggested the first thing to look for is low fluid level. Also, apparently way back Dodge came out with a tech bulletin to add a check valve in one of the lines, to help with the drainback issue...

    Tranny problem/question 01 ram 3500 dually automatic

Hi, I hope someone can help with some ideas: My 01 5.9 Cummins auto takes a while, approx 15 seconds to start moving when I first start it and put it in Drive. After that it behaves normally, no slipping or funny gear changes. Before I drop the tranny and do a rebuild, I was wondering if this...

Ford guy looking at a Dodge

Hi, I've had both, a 94 IDI that was a big pit where I would throw $100 dollar bills into every time we came back from a trip, and now I own an 01 24 valve Dodge. I love the Dodge, it has 350,000 kms, and solid as a rock, economical, much more powerful than the 7.3L Ford. Pre-emptily I replaced...

Could someone chime in with the exact location of the test port on the VP44, please? I would like to connect my fuel pressure gauge into it. Thanks

    new (to me) cummins

I brazed a bung to the tranny pan in a few minutes, and the risk of a leak is minimal, I would recommend it, as the sensor is submerged in the oil, giving you an average temp of the actual fluid. I would like to find out where is the test port in the vp44, as I still need to install my fuel...

    Wrecked 1999 F250 7.3L 4x4 part out

Hi, I know it's an old ad, but just in case: I need the fuel switch at the panel, and the harness that goes to the switching valve. I already got the valve. Any chance it's still there? Thanks, Dan

    Front hub help

Front hub removal I don't have 4 bolts coming in from the rear, just three small bolts that hold the splash shield (or what's left of it) from the front. I had to drill them out, and I'm going with pass through bolts with nylon locking nuts in behind. Each shield was $50. Talk about a rip off...

    Front hub help

Hi folks, I was replacing the front rotors in my 01 Quad Cab 2x4 3500 Dually, when I noticed a grinding in the left front hub. Found one on eBay for $200. local parts stores wanted $350, so I'm happy about that. My question: how does it come off? Do I need to remove the big nut in the centre...

Electric fan conversion, good or not?

electric fans conversion I ran my Ford IDI with the electric fan conversion (out of a Windstar minivan, dual fans), with a thermostat control, and it kept my engine at a constant temp all the time. To me, the benefit is you're not turning the fan when the engine is cold (I live in St...

Electric fan conversion, good or not?

Hi all, Can anyone tell me if electric fan conversion is a good idea on an 01 automatic 24V, mostly to help keep the auto xmission oil cool? I had done it in my 94 Ford IDI and it ran much cooler. It is a common conversion on Ford IDI's. Is it a common practice on 5.9's too? Thanks for any...
