Sir I was simply sharing what happened, I would not have cranked any longer. I was proud of my ole beat up truck for starting the way it did, One never knows when glows plugs may become inoperable so it's nice to know what it could do if needed. How you figure that? I built my starter, Pressure set my injectors, Timed my pump, Installed my truetrac done my zf swap and a few other mods all myself so I know a little about what I'm doing. The consequences of cranking for maybe 10 seconds aren't really much of a concern, Now do that...- Clayton

Dont get all bent out of shape. I was just curious, I know when to stop. Thought I'd share how a properly working idi will fire with reasonable temps without plugs.- Clayton

I have 12 volt glow plugs on a manual switch, Decided to try it at 52 degrees this morning without them.. After 10 seconds of cranking bam she lit right off. Nothing like having a properly tuned fast cranking idi..- Clayton

6.9l haveing to use starting fluid to started it
Anytime I do a manual setup I use 12 volt glow plugs, They take a little longer to heat but you can hold them indefinitely with out burning any out. I tested an autolite 1110 on jumper cables with my truck running, let it glow for over 5 minutes without burning out or swelling. Yes the 6 volt...- Clayton

No worries, I been wrenching for too long. Did the entire zf swap myself and the truetrac and tons of other crap I felt I needed to spend money on. Love my old truck though, it's sure been good to me.- Clayton

Fork came out without pulling the trans, I'm assuming the new one will slide back in.. All clutch components are fairly new so I'm not pulling the trans If I don't have too.- Clayton
