My brake master cylinder was leaking so I tried to replace it... The line was smashed so I just cut it off and planned to flare it and add a union later instead of replacing the whole line. When I pulled everything apart someone had severely over tightened the lines and the flare was damaged on the T. So I need a new T, no biggy.. Except NO ONE has it. I tried every auto parts store, a local brake and hydraulic shop and motion and flow. Nothing. Ok, well I will at least get a union.. Nope. No one had it either....

So I guess I have to just replace the whole line.. not a big deal. But the T... I can't find one anywhere. So now I'm looking at just replacing the whole line and eliminating the T, which means no brake controller..

Here is a picture of what I'm talking about. The top port goes to the brake controller. Any ideas?

Since the flare's so bad anyway, could you use a pair of Vise Grips on it? If you do, be sure to use a wrench to actually fits on the T to hold it and keep it from turning. What have you got to lose?

What part of the fitting is damaged? If the threads are still good and the seat is just galled some I have had luck putting teflon tape carefully around the flare on the pipe and putting it back together. I may get flamed for putting teflon tape in a brake system, but it works.

The threads are fine, but the seat is f'ed.

I got them separated. Had to put it in the vice with a breaker bar.

I read it as the nut on the line was damaged. Maybe the picture made me think of that? If it wasn't leaking brake fluid before, then I'd try to reuse it. If it leaks, at least you tried.

That tee is pretty special, the jump size coming out of the top makes it super tough. If you are desperate, you could use a brass pipe thread tee, and then use male pipe to female inverted flare adapters to make the correct female inverted flare ports. It will be quite a "Christmas tree" of adapters, which I am not a big proponent of, but if you can't manage to dig up a used factory tee, it would be a solution to get to your needed controller port.

Try page H14 and H15 of this catalog for some info:

Delete the T and run a newer brake controller? Newer ones don't need brake line tap. Then you don't need the goofy T and a fresh flare and worse case new master has you all good again.

Sorry about that, but I just a week ago scrapped out a whole bunch of those tees. Had them for the Kelsy-Hayes controllers when I was in the RV service business. Maybe an RV service or store might have one.

Thanks for the suggestions guys ! Austin - that is what I was looking for. I appreciate the offer, but I think I'm going to just run a new line. I'm going to eliminate the T and run a newer controller.
