rear suspension????

so the 93 got rear ended by a yarris (yea I know..) doing around 40....
the class 5 16k curt receiver saved the tin, however cost me rear frame horns and shackle hangers.
its going to go under the knife soon, any better upgrades for the rear springs I should look at,,, she is a towpig for most of the time so thats my direction, unloaded ride quality is right up there with stability with the 5er attached.

I've got that same hitch I've been thinking about cutting a piece of flat bar or angle to go in the frame rail there to beef that up. Glad it wasn't worse than it was.

photofukkit lost a bunch, sync was wacked out, I got some of the library into an old lg revolution( lost cause).

they are gonna total you due to frame damage and left spring damage. hitch is considered no good too. buyback the salvage and put your powertrain into *this* http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/cto/5784817594.html.

I did this for a customer about 10 years ago. two weeks ago, I had to drive his rig back to kali for him since we wound up in the hospital.
all I have to say is WOW. with a 14k gross fiver hung on it's back, it was like a glass smooth ride. Plenty of control coming over the Tehachapi. Problem is, the OBS kit is disco'd, so you will need to get the 99'&up kit and do some custom fab work.

I agree with towcat. Mine was hit harder and more damage, but same kind of damage. Totaled my truck. The two quotes I got to fix it were both over 10 grand with no guarantee it would drive straight.

As I have NO intent on letting them total the truck without a fight, I will be looking to do the repairs right.

got an insane adjuster with a $2500.00 repair order.. he said fix it..(thats including paint) haha
now for the shop's take off/est., this should be good.

carefully inspect between the bad and cab. make sure there was no contact.

So here's my 2 cents. I lost a truck over a "harmless" rear end collision. Bumper bed into the cab. New bumper new paint good to go. Fast forward few months. Lost universal joints. Didn't think too much of it. Had problems changing them. Took it to a shop. Yoke was bent (why I was having trouble getting joints out) and he asked me what in the world I had done to that driveshaft. It was all bent up. New yoke and a new shaft later, I'm good until the tcase started making noise. This is probably 9 months post wreck. Bearings out of case. I was in school and didn't have time or resources to screw with it so I slapped a new case in. 5 or so months later it started again. Looking back it all makes sense. The wreck bent something in the driveline but I had no way to prove it that far post wreck and I ended up trading the truck off for the half ton ford I have now.

So pretty much to echo what towcat said and then some, go over it with a fine tooth comb even things you don't think are hurt or could be hurt. I know insurance companies and old truck values etc. if for no other reason it could save you pain and suffering down the road.

Still trying kellerman for info, the adjuster is off by something like 3k in my eyes.
Once they start returning my phone calls, I will have a shop measure the frame first.
Once I get the azzholes at Hertz to do anything.... The bed will come off to do the frame/hitch/suspension, and check the showerheads,

Its time for an appraisal, the shops are skeeeeert of the body line paint separation tape.
All of them said the rack time is no problem as to getting the frame squared up.
3 shops said pass, found one will touch it.
