So one of the new recruits for our SAR group works at sandblaster in Penticton.
Tells me he can blast small parts for me no cost no problem
So I figure, lets start to plan out my engine detailing I want to take care of when my cab and clip is off so I can add on some fine ass painted parts.
My goal is the block grey as is KEEP the core of engine IH grey.
Sandblasted
All the aluminum to give a clean as cast appearance. maybe the intake...uncertain at this point.
I'll have my serp brackets done this week, then I can do the clear coat, oven bake routine! A few coats of clear should suffice and provide a nice clean cast look.
Also considering doing the oil cooler headers as fresh cast....then clear coated as well. I'd tape the ***** outta them and seal them up so no sand gets in them but I think those would look nice as fresh aluminum, with a SATIN black cooler tube!
Also thinking of blasting and painting all my pulleys, Satin black
Satin black fuel filter bracket as well.
I'm still waiting on the damn chrome details....no luck there yet!
So for now that's kinda what I got in mind.
If I could ceramic coat my own stuff,
I'd likely blast a set of exhaust manifolds and some turbo parts to prep for a ceramic coating as well
Hmm...black manifolds and nice ceramic coating of turbo parts
The 088 turbo kit will likely be installed during all this too....
If I pulled my intake I could surely do a nice detail, clean, paint of the block and install that nice as cast aluminum intake as well.
That however means a bit of $$$ as valley gasket aint cheap!
So those are my thoughts on some engine detailing I'm considering....
Any suggestions? or thoughts?
Oh ya, I can do a full stock turbo valve cover and GP relay relocate as I have all the parts to do so....maybe some black valve covers too????
