Got my poly mount, Started installing them. I cant get the center and rear body mounts to come out. Any tricks to this? I am doing it with the body on, Just jackig up the body for a little clearance. Front ones are easy, the center and rear are the problem.

the cab mounts have a sleeve that is pressed together in them.you need to either get it apart or cut them off with a sawzall

I have dealt with quite a few rusted body bolts by drilling the heads off and pounding them thru with a punch.

I have the bolts out, I crushed my puller, which is a piece of exhaust pipe that i usually use to pull these. just frustrated with em right now. No hurries tho, the core support bolt sheared off when I removed it so I have to go get hardware anyway. Oh well time for a cold one.

Good news though, i went to the pull apart today and bought a grey interior arm rest for mommas side for $3.45. The arm rest was busted when i got the truck. Only damage to the interior. Got teh stabilizer on the steering today. Smoother steering when you hit rough roads now.

Its just a piece of round tube with a flat washer and all thread.

Be sure and just do one side of the cab at a time so it doesn't shift.

I always nock them apart with a long punch "made out of a steel rod" and a BFH from inside the cab.. Most of them only take one swing to get apart.

I used a large hub nut socket, works great and doesnt crush.

oh i get it now after reading hsuttens thread. forgot about that. on mine, the two bolts for the rad support bushings are stuck, time to fire up the torch. sorry to hi-jack gunz

Been down that route before. Sometimes it works great for me, sometimes not.

The fastest way around this jam is a hole saw. One that just fits over the nut on the bottom. Once you cut away that lower nut/washer assy, you can lift it up in the cab and sawzall the bolt. New hardware is the only way to go on these jobs.

That is a good idea Mel! Only thing is, I like Poly bushings and it is expensive to buy new STOCK bushings and metal sleeves only to use the metal sleeves in the poly bushings

I think I am going to make a HD pusher type tool. Dont want to drop the tank to change these. I will post up my results

I dont care about the factory mounts, I am going poly anyway. So if they get damaged, I dont care.
