Dual fuel tank set up so that the wmo tank doesn't contaminate the diesel tank?

I read somewhere (i cant find it again) about a dual tank setup with two fuel tank selector valves. It was supposed to keep the wmo tank from mixing with the diesel tank when switching between tanks. Does anyone know how a setup like that would work? I want to do one on my turbo f350 before i start running wmo on it.

I have a manual valve between both tanks going to the engine and the return plumbed to the WMO tank..... there's no other way to do it and keep a "clean diesel tank"......

I never worried about getting oil in the diesel tank.
1st reason was that I rarely ran more than 50/50 wmo diesl mix.
2nd was that when leaving home I would wait 7 miles where I pulled onto the main highway before switching to the mix, and then switch back to diesel at that same intersection when heading home.
This used about half a tank of diesel a week, and filling it once a week seemed to be enough to keep that tank relatively clear.
Even with buying clear diesel once a week, and filling my bulk tank for my wmo mix the money saved was huge. Honestly couldnt afford to not burn wmo at that point in my life.

You have not lived wmo until your out in the middle of the night in the winter pumping wmo into your truck to take someone to the er.....lol.

The OE Ford setup should allow you to run a separate WMO tank that never mixes with the other tank. As long as your return line goes to the Fuel tank Select Valve you should be set.

when you switch tanks, from the tank valve forward is still wmo. All of that will be returned to the diesel tank.

I have one tank and 2 stages of filtering. Good enough. I'll probably clean the tank some when i go in to fix the fuel level sender unit.

Its not so much that Im concerned about filtering and it being good enough. The reason i want to keep the diesel tank "clean" is that there are instances where I dont want it to smoke and smell from running wmo, ie in drive throughs, going on dates, or where people are standing nearby. Also i want the cleaning additives i will add to the diesel to work without having dirty oil in it. I imagine that the cleaners would work better that way.

Id never back down from being a WMO advocate....... i proudly fog those around me, id tell my "date"..."Honey, this evening we're rolling on waste oil. If the truck starts jerking ill pull over and change the fuel filter so it will be a more pleasant ride..... as a matter of fact, i can only afford this date because i do stuff like this"....but when I shut my truck off, I do like it to have diesel in the fuel system instead of oil.

My 50 50 tank (or much thicker) never really made any smoke, and although it did smell differently than straight diesel, never smelled any worse than any other non cat/ dpf diesel ttuck. If running cold on a thick mix, there would be some smoke/smell, but even that when warmed up was pretty minor.

are you wanting to be running on straight diesel as soon as the tank is switched?
On my truck, I put a clear filter in the return to know when it was back to straight diesel after switching tanks. Took right about 5 miles.

I've disregarded most of that because imo, wmo is about being simple and cheap. Shut off my truck in drive thrus because of the noise, or go inside. Tailpipe is cut short and somewhat hidden so the full concentrated emission is not seen.

I dont figure the cummins is as tolerant maybe so far as wmo smoke... i go to about 25% max blend with wmo, or as high as maybe 33% with hyd oil.

I figure any additives help the wmo burn. Guess i havent considered anything different because I'm still running just 1 tank.
