Does this E4OD selector cable connection look correct?

So my shifter selector started feeling a little "less positive" than it used to, and it might just be old/worn, but I figured I'd take a look at it and it seems like it should be closer to lever rather than out on the end of the mount. I looked all over the internet for installed pics but all I could find was 1999 and newer pics with the two piece clip and window style end as its looks like a different cable.

Let me know if this looks right, and maybe my problem is elsewhere.

Column Shift Lever ‘92 E4OD

I must suck at using the search function cause I can’t find anything. Does someone have a write-up or thread on tightening up the column shift lever? Mine like to come out of park and fly right by reverse, and the same going into drive. And to get it into first, I have to pull it way down with...

No problem! I spent too much time looking in the wrong place for that same issue. I think the other parts I replace need to be also but it was the cable that was the real issue
