if your running a dana 50 frt axle and a 10.25 rear axle i could hook you up with some 4.56 gears.

I really want a ZF5 s47 but all i keep finding are s42-cuss.Trying to make something work with what i got. Getting closer to doing my engine swap

I wish I had that problem around here! All I found was a 47......for $1400.

Send some of them spares up this way!!!

I remember at Ace towing we had a 1996 PSD truck. The case got broken when a driver decided to hop up and over a rock that he shouldn't have been anywheres near.

The boss sent another truck to bring it back in, fired the driver, had me pull the transmission and had his mechanic Terry do what you said.

He had an old S5-42 from an IDI flatbed that had long since bit the dust, but there was metal shavings in the case. So the 47 guts went into the 42 case (or that's what I remember on my last going off while working on that truck)

The next day that truck was back in service with the 42 case in her.

Get a parts diagram of the 42 and the 47 and compare. I think it should be ok.

The 38 and 4.11 will give just a little taller ratio then my 3.55 with 32". I have no problem with the 4.14 first actually think it is more usable then the 5.11 the t-19 had. Also the 3 to 4 jump was to wide with the t-19 when towing.

You're top speed (governed) will be over 100, but that's just about right for a stock tire, with a 32" tire, 4.10 gears and OD you should be at 64 at 2000 RPM so I'd say you're speedo is good.

I dont thin the 3-4 is that bad on th T-19, the 2-3 shift is what really kills ya when towing heavy or it does me, i would love to have a ZF5 there just all around great transmissions
