OK, a 16-year-old truck is allowed to clunk once in a while, right?
I was on an approach to a bridge when it made a horrible clunking sound, like metal hitting metal. I thought maybe the whole front end would fall apart. Since I had no chance to stop I kept going and it straightened itself out. Nothing seems to be loose down there and it goes down the road straight at 70 mph. I am thinking the 4WD did not get disengaged completely from the last use? Any ideas? Do I have front-end trouble coming?

might be something expensive and life-threatening, or it could be simple and un-important.....

mine started making a horrid rattle/clank one day last week, turned out my running board on the drivers side came loose from one of the brackets, just took em both off and no more noises

whatever it is, I'd be hunting for the cause
