Turbo Whine

How whiney is your turbo? I read about some of you guys liking the sound.
My turbo makes no sound. I feel no turbo whine love

How loud should it be? Mine is a ATX 088.

I feel your pain man. The first time i heard turbo whistle from a diesel once i started to pay attention to it i was in love.
I am also in the same boat as you are as far as no turbo whistle. I have a factory turbo on my truck. I don't know why i don't get any turbo whistle. Mabey it is just the type of turbo that is put in the factory turbo'ed trucks. Along with that **** poor excuse of an exhaust system that they put on these things from the factory.

hmm well my whistle is very loud i gets lots of the love
but im also running the hypermax turbo not the 088

What is the type of turbo that was put on the factory turbo'ed trucks?
I know it is wastegated but what make and model?

i know the factory turbo was an ats 093 i belive? somebody on here will correct me if im wrong
and they had the exhaust chocked down and few other things so it only gaiend like 5hp

That extra 5 whopping horse power would explain why when i drove my friends '93 7.3L N/A i felt no real differnce in power over my turbo'ed truck.

yea ford was trying to keep the 460 as there bread and butter they didnt want they big diesel to have more power then there precious 460
acually if i rember right i think they acually turned the fuel down too
what in the hell was ford thinking when they did that?

Ya that and they wanted the new PSD to look better than the IDI. I have heard that a properly tuned 7.3L IDI will out do the first PSD's.

very true it is i love it smoked one today acually
but it is pretty easy too make 3 4 hundred hp outta the psd
not so easy with the idi lol

did you turn your fuel up?
more fuel needs more air wich in theory=more boost =more turbo whistle
stock exhaust can hamper it to how free flowing is the intake?
is there a muffler?

I have not turned up my fuel b/c i don't have a pyro.
Exhaust system is bone stock including that awsome downpipe.
Muffler=yes
