Timing problems

Timing can cause white smoke. I wouldn't think it would be bad on start up but if it does it at idle when warm then maybe timing still off.

I have a 7.3idi it don't smoke white or gray only when it hits the low teens. It could be a turbo thing.

If that is a white/blue smoke that smells sweet and burns your eyes, that would be a timing issue usually. No, normally these trucks run with a clear exhaust at idle, and when your cruising with minimal load. At night, with a light shining on them, the exhaust is much more visible.
