Heres how mine looked when I first saw her and picked her up. Grown in, hood been up like that for years, junk all in the box, junk inside, dirty as hell inside and out, in the back forty next to an '80s ford van with no front clip. To make it worse, It was grown in with poisoning weeds......

Yes, The date is wrong.

Then I found this when I started to clean once I got her home.....

No ****? Why didn't you? Glad you didn't though. Took some time off away from everything and just relaxed and regained patience. But yeah, It IS a small world.

Ah. I just pulled one of the sending units out and DAMN! Tank is half full of rust and the sending unit is trash. Half the tank is literally rusted to the point it is "crumby" and turned the diesel orange. Where do the units ground at on the frame or do they run back to the switch? Also, Where can someone dispose of a few gallons of old fuel? Local parts house won't take it.

Thanks for the kind words!
He did an excellent job on the paint. Since this was a color change, I provided the doors, front fenders & hood as "loose parts" allowing him to paint the backside of each prior to installation. Then sent the bed separate from the cab and the interior was completely removed (including the dash). Told him I didn't want to see "RED" paint anywhere. Also learned something when he stripped the hood. He found this truck was repainted early in life due to hail damage! Told him that's very possible since it came from Kansas. When I get it completely finished I'll attach more pics showing interior (color change from red to grey) and underhood, etc. Anxious to start driving it, last inspection was 9/11. Hope that isn't bad luck!

Had some painting as well these days. The grill and the light - surroundings weren't nice anymore. And from being a person afraid of having leaks in cooling systems though it could be good to put some additional safety on.

Here is my IDI. This is the second one I have owned inside of two years, I just can't get away from them. My first one was only 2wd as well as na and was not photo worthy lol. The one I own now is so much better cosmetically, is 4wd and turbo charged. When I bought her, she had no leaks and ran great, until I discovered that the previous owner had moved the cdr valve to the intake pipe of the turbo, which created an increased vacuum for the blow by therefore created no leaks. Well I fixed it backed to manufacture settings and placement, needless to say 48 hours later I had leaks at the cam, crank, injector pump and exhaust port of the turbo. So now, I am having a new rebuilt motor put in, with a rebuilt turbo, I should be back on the road within the next 2 weeks I hope. I would like to do a larger downpipe and maybe a bigger injector pump at some point. The trans is new as well, after all is said and I done, she will be perfect and will last for ever now. There are some cosmetic interior things I would like to do as well down the line. I'm just stoked to have a solid performing idi diesel that will last me forever now.

A friend asked me the other day if he could borrow "the goat" to move some industrial freezers. No problem.
