Have you ever heard a 2 stroke Detroit cold start. It requires a full can of ether and hell follows close behind. No, I really haven't. Are you saying that there's a more rackety diesel engine out there?

That's comparing apples to oranges though. A Detroit seems to be in a class all by itself. I watched a video a while back explaining the 2 stroke diesel, it's pretty interesting.Have you ever heard a 2 stroke Detroit cold start. It requires a full can of ether and hell follows close behind.

The reason I looked up Detroit engines is because I was looking at it early 70s MCI bus for sale. It had a 8V??, I can't remember.I had an 8V92TA in the 1980's. The smoking Jimmy as it was known. Almost impossible to start when temps dropped below 30 F. Talk about rattling... It was pretty quick. I was only beat by one Peterbilt in the Redwood City area. I knew almost nothing about diesels back then. Sure learned quick!
Certainly. No, I really haven't. Are you saying that there's a more rackety diesel engine out there?
I have one of those..but it is a project I 'might' get to eventually...You've never listened to a 6.2/6.5 have you?
They are. I see no reason to run the injector lines over the top of the valve covers.Good thing Redandblacksmith did not have to pull the covers on one of those...looks like a hassle..
talking about the GMC 6.2-6.5...I see no reason to run the injector lines over the top of the valve covers.
