oil drain plug thread size

Time for an oil change, it needs a new drain plug gasket, and I want to pick up a gasket ahead of time. I think the oil drain plug thread is 1/2" - 20. Can anybody verify this?


Rockauto says up to 1989 is 1/2" - 20............1990 and up 14mm - 1.25 Other sources say 1/2" - 20 from 1983 - 1994. What is correct? Thanks.

It is 1/2-20. And this sucker will be a nice upgrade, ehh?

They didn't change the thread count or size of the hole between years.. Not unless someone messed up changing oil, and put the wrong plug in, because a 14-1.25 will crossthread its way into a 1/2-20 hole.
