hey all, i need new leafs and shocks in my truck...is this a PITA to do in my driveway? is it hard to keep the axles straight? any tips to make my life easier?
thanx alot -matt
it's not that bad if you have air tools.
do one side at a time.
keep in mind, leaf spring packs are ungodly heavy to begin with and weigh even more when you are working in a confined area.
The leaf packs will probably be what gives you the most trouble. Out of all the trucks Ive pulled leafs on, only once have the bolts come out of the shackles without having to be ground off. Also, the shocks are pretty easy as long as the ubolts arnt rusted up to bad.
I would have probably had an easier time if I had a torch, but Im to cheap and have a grinder present so its what I use.
