Afternoon everyone, well I'm sitting here in my truck and got to thinking(can you smell smoke) I'm going to be doing the E40d to the zf5 swap this month. Now I have a transmission temp gauge and the sending unit installed. Now could I take that sending unit and use it and my temperature sending unit???? Thanks Joe

besides the gauge saying trans temp I don't see why not.

your referring to putting the trans temp sensor in the cooling system right?

Or maybe if you already have a mechanical temp gauge, you could use it as an oil temp gauge.

Yeah, I'd do this. I assume the sensors are the same, coolant vs trans fluid, but if not... oil and ATF are very similar, whereas coolant is completely different and might wreck any seals inside the sender.
