valve stem heights.
thats exactly what im seeing.
we installed monstrous inconel valves.
i bet the guy that did the valve job, didnt check it.
i mean, he only did it twice.
and BAM! just like that.....

Sadly I "thought" you had measured the depth of the valves in the heads and the heights of the stems. Might very well be the machinst did not know or care bout the specs. They do stack up quickly. Still don't think its the cam.....

and it usually takes me 3 or 4 times to go through an issue.
in my mind i had cam on the brain,.
but i see the light now.
i plan on putting it together again today and getting her up to temperature.
if the oil press is fixed, i will be calling summit for adjustable pushrods to determine my final length.
then a call to Smith Bros.
i have a good 1/4" to play with when it comes to the roller rockers.
so this issue will be resolved.
what can i say, im hard headed.

x2! but i did use new valves, so the likeliness of the machine shop didnt check it is highly probable.
and the manufacturer most likely left them long.
im not pulling the heads unless i have to.
