I love the piece of metal that follows the frame. Beats the heck out of wood blocking. What is it, 2x3 box filleted?

Now that's a truck:thumbsup: Great work. If my truck didn't have a cube on the back (built in workshop) I'd like to do the same thing to mine. Maybe when I retire?

That's a spiffy little spoiler on top of the cab:D
Travis..

Looks good;Sweet Whats up with your cab roof? Looks like a built in spoiler.

Everyone spot's that, it was on there when I bought the truck - I've never seen another truck around here with one.:dunno

I have that exact same spoiler hanging in between the loft joists.

I got the spoiler with a perfect LUND visor at a swap-meet.

They are painted some awful candy-purple metal-flake with pink and bluish pin-stripes. LOL

I really bought them just to have a spare visor in case the one on the truck ever got destroyed; but, after seeing how the spoiler looks on your truck, I may paint it black and mount it.

I need to take a good look at just how close in height the cab and sleeper match; it would be awesome if the sleeper is somewhat higher, then the spoiler would look really

It's just 3" c-channel on it's edge - I notched it over the frame to clear the hump. It just looks a little smoother from the side than a bunch of crap all cobbled together...LOL.....I would say I have atleast $500 in new steel in this project so far if you included the new doors. The hoist came off this truck I scrapped last summer - I traded this 86 carcass (minus the hoist and PP) for the 6.9 and all the goodies that I just installed in the truck.:sly

I traded that old PP and $300 for a 2001 F150 supercab 4x4 that I scrapped....The PP I'm using on my truck is brand new - I traded a tilt steering column and a couple other parts for it with the guy who is helping me build this dump setup.:rotflmao....The electric dump valve is brand new and a freebie....LOL....Jim is helping me with this project - in return I gave him a 5.0 roller engine and a few other parts for his 30 model A hotrod....If you haven't figured out - I'm a wheeler dealer bartering king...:D The rear axle/springs from the F350 is now being used by my buddy Bjorn to build a 2wd F350 crew cab, short deck 5th hauler powered with a Hino 4 cylinder turbo diesel. I supplied the crew cab/frame for that project as well. He is using the 12ft deck on another truck.

:dunno Is that truck an 86 ?? :dunno

What I am seeing may be just an optical illusion; what is the protusion extending above the bed that looks like part of the hoist-cylinder ??

I never have seen anything like it on a dump-cylinder, unless they all have it and it is hidden within the hoist-tower made into the bed. :dunno

Thanks.

It's all hoist baby....LOL.....Telescopic - the stages have to hide somewhere....And - yes - it's was an 86 with a bricknose bolted on....I drove it home about 50km, holes in the floor and all.....The trans was toast, it would jump out of 1st gear under load and make everyone around you in traffic **** their pants...LOL

I was down to BigRig's place today workin on my D60 swap, and I had a look at the truck. It's lookin REALLY good. The way that the bed is welded on, that cylinder should almost make the tailboard touch the ground....nice steep dump angle! ;Sweet

Seeing the truck before there was any body on it at all, and then just the flat deck, and now the dump box...this truck has come a LONG way from the cab and chassis 460 5 speed it was :hail

That project has my complete attention. :love:Your fab guy is good and you are sure to see a couple of your ideas sneak into my dump build when the time comes, hope ya don't mind. That ram with the trans driven PTO could probably break the truck's frame if you let it. Is there a manufacturer name on the ram/ is it really meant for a bigger truck. I am probably going to be using electric PTO with the 6 ton scissor set up, its what I have. The sheet steel for the bed is one of the few things I do not have. Working on Atlantic City's casinos and being able to dumpster dive aver the past 10 years has really let me acquire some good metal stock. Can't wait to see more pics.;Sweet

That just seems so weird; we got frogs hollering and girls running around in their Daisy Mae shorts, and you got snow. LOL

It's melting quick but when I came in from the shop last night there was 3" of wet, sticky snow on the ground....This is why I don't take my plow gear off until May 1st - you never know...LOL
