my valve train geometry, is spot on.
the roller meets the valve stem directly in the center with the bolt and the pedestal installed.
if I wanted to decrease the compression with a thicker headgasket, the geometry inbetween the
pedestal and the valve will not change. only the dimension inbetween the lifter and the adjuster on the rocker.

these rockers are adjustable. if I ever did need to shim the rocker, it can easily be done inbetween the head pedestal and the rocker pedestal.
ive already been through all of this.
I will not be running the decomp HG's
so its pretty much a moot point ;Sweet

PLEASE CROSS YOUR FINGERS/PRAY FOR MY 7.3

after a long weekend of fiber glassing eats for my boat (interior guys were on my ass)
I have made some progress.
today I tore the front cover off the engine.
made block off plates for the coolant passages.
filled it with water, and pressurized the system to 15 lbs.

so far so good!
it has been holding at that pressure for 15 minutes without leaking water out of the oil pan.
I have some work things to do for the rest of the day, so in the shop it will sit with 15 psi.

if you have a favorite deity, or believe in luck and or karma.
please do a drought dance for me!
I hope to not see any water on the floor and still holding pressure after im done!!!

Well the coolant system is holding steady at 15 psi.

The BFH approach has a cathartic effect that shouldn't be ignored, but I like the "Peace Through Superior Firepower" approach offered by the mini-gun and the RPG :rotflmao

Then there's Billy-Bob's approach...this was actually filmed in the Antelope Valley north of L.A.; you can see the Aerospace Walk of Honor in Lancaster in some scenes ;Sweet in fact, I think I've been off-roading near where the last scene was shot LOL

6 am, 15 hours of 15 psi, gives the block and heads a clean bill of health!
time to put her back together!
I will be putting the oil cooler on today, letting it dry, then retesting.
will be doing the same with the gear cover and water pump as well.
trying to make damn sure I don't have this issue again!

have you seen the whole episode of road kill? they test the prius against a gremlin lol
then even tow the prius with the gremlin after they threw a rod in it LOL
