i seriously do not believe this!

again.
im losing water!
don't know where this time.
maybe the front cover again?
how the hell. completely frustrated.

looks like my block off plates are getting called in the game once again.

almost to the point where I want to take it in to a shop,

time to pull the front cover off again.

if it holds with the block off plates, I will be replacing the front cover, and water pump.

its gotta be something stupid.

about ready to build another block too....kinda pissed.

Is it only losing coolant when running? Does it lose it when pressure testing or only when running? Does it make a difference if block heat is plugged in and it's under pressure? That really sucks man. It's a shame when you spend so much time on something and do everything right and it still doesn't work. Because it's not like you can even pay someone else to do it, because you know you did it right and the same thing is just going to happen when they do it too.

Is it still ending up in the oil?

Rotate engine... @ifrythings suggestion...90 deg...test 90 deg test 90 deg test 1more time for good measure...

Still thinking gasket walk or crap per tele conversation...but cavitation is real too

The other thing you can do for gaskets, or cavitation is remove radiator cap, use compression tester through glow plug hole and pressure each cylinder at a time for a couple minutes, watch for bubbles in radiator cap. 120psi of cylinder pressure should be enough to show a leaking head gasket if it was coolant to cylinder when shut down, or if it was from cavitation.

maybe pull the glow plugs this time while pressure testing?

good idea.
cant work on it tonight until after the babies go to bed,
ill pull em

im going to rotate the crank 90* too.
im also going to get a motorcraft water pump.

tomorrow, I will run a straight edge on the block, and water pump.
im also 86'ing this timing cover. which makes me atleast pull the parts engine from the parts truck.

im tired of dicking with this ******* truck. having thoughts of throwing the
spare powerstroke I have in it, along with my stand alone harness. :idiot:

Iol I'm riding in an obs replacement for now. So far in 1,000 miles I've already had to have to towed once for the already rebuilt idm burning up again despite no wiring issues. I ran new ground everywhere hopefully it lasts again. I love the idi for its simplicity. Even with that leaking coolant it's probably drive a few thousand miles before spinning a rod bearing, and then a few hundred more with a spun bearing. No computer telling it not to run. It just keeps going because its not a little *****

is the water goin into oil or just leaving the rad, if you fill it full and dont have a recovery bottle it will push out to an inch or so down.

recovery bottle is in the mail. but the water drains past the point where a recovery bottle would fix it. sometimes 2-3 gallons.

water is definitely getting into the oil.

im done ducking with this engine right now.

gonna spend today and do a engine swap.
