So I had this happen last night and was already able to get it fixed, just figured I'd post this up in case anyone else is having air intrusion issues. My truck has the plastic "U" clip style retainers on the top of the sending unit on the tank and somehow that was what was leaking. I had new rubber hose the whole way from the facet pump to like 3 feet from the tank, which had the blue hard plastic line coming from the clipped part of the sending unit. I took that off and chucked it, and just ran a rubber line from the steel part of the sending unit to where I previously had the rubber hose and hooked it together with a union barb piece.

Now it's flawless again. Weird. I don't think those clip together style pieces on the sending units work well on "pulling" fuel systems instead of pump style.
