My 85 F350 6.9 diesel engine lost its oil dipstick so I can't measure the oil without getting under the truck and putting a backup dipstick down the hole in the block.
I have no idea if the original dipstick touches the bottom of the oil pan or not, but I push my backup dipstick in until it touches the bottom of the pan.
If someone can measure the oil level on their original dipstick in inches, then I can compare my level to that to see if my level is correct. My original dipstick tube won't stay in the oil hole in the block so when I push the backup dipstick through, it won't allow me to push the dipstick all the way in.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
