I have found an 85 CCLB SRW F350 for sale locally here that I am going to look at and I'm mildly interested in but its a 2WD and I am looking for a 4x4 truck for the little bit of snow and mud I go threw the year. What am I looking at for a conversion? The truck is currently auto so I am guessing a C6. I have a spare C6 IDI 4x4 transmission, transfer case and converter that I rebuilt for a project that is dying, but no front axle, etc.

You'll need to drop 500 to a grand for a D60, but the rest of the conversion to a D60 is just time consuming from what I read, not all to hard though. You need to mount brackets for the spring perches and possibly (don't know for sure) relocate the steering box. You'll need to take out the coil spring mounts and install shock mounts only. I'm sure others will chime in on things I've missed....

or you can take the front axle out of a f150. it will bolt in. you will need chevy outer hubs off a 8 lug ten bolt front end. mel said all this before.
