welcome to the site. a 2wd IDI conversion is a little more challenging then a 4wd IDI conversion, due to the steering linkage and the crossmember. you're in good company though, there's at least 6 trucks of that vintage hanging around here. be patient, they'll show up.

some of us go to FTE when were bored.
this is THE #1 IDI site. hands down ;Sweet

have you decided how to run your brake and clutch pedals yet?

I do believe Towcat is correct, may need to modify an oil pan.

I think I will just have to do an obs set. As far as the pan goes I am going to do a body lift for the zf5 so maybe I can scoot it back further idk have to pull the 460 now. Getting the truck home was the first fight won me 1 truck 0

Here is a thought might be really stupid or genius. What if I took the I beams a switched sides then just moved the gear box to the other side of the cross member?

Welcome!! Cool project. Looks like you have a solid starting point.

I suspect in time the truck will even the score. I know with mine I call it a win if I make it a draw. [emoji6]

Oh and I left out the goodies po also replaced the rear end with a d70 with the dually drums, 4.10s, and put in a Detroit locker. He also put the springs that came with the axle on too.

anything can be done.
you do gotta ask yourself if you want to get into that much heavy fab work, or not.

i may use an aftermarket mustang II for my build, which is a decade down the road.

as far as pedals go, i would really do a brick nose set up.
pedals arnt just pedals in the older than OBS trucks, their column supports as well.
and tie into the dash at some point for rigidity...

do it your way, im just tryin to give you some insight on what is to come.

I am trying to do it on the cheap if I could just get a clutch pedal that would be awesome less work but no leads on that

I swapped a 7.3 in to my '75 a few years back. It was a very easy swap, though mine was 4wd and lifted... I built some basic motor mounts, trans mount, used the 75's rad, shortened driveshafts... I went from a c6 to the diesel's t19 so I had to get a manual pedal assy.. I'm guessing you will have oil pan clearance issues.

I am a welder by trade so I am not scared of so fab work. Might even use some stainless rod and make them all pretty colors.
