Nope. The IDI turbo was available for 2.5 years. I have one from a 1995 truck. I bought it out of a wrecked truck with a little over 300K on it. Ford knows the truck exists even if the aftermarket doesn't.- ne_plus_ultra_1

clarification The ring gear was from a manual transmission flywheel and it had same measurements as for an automatic flexplate ring gear.- ne_plus_ultra_1

I have that engine... I have one. 7.3 IDI Turbo from a 1995. They were in like 3% of the Ford F-series that year. 1994 had that option too. I think it has plenty of power. I have gotten a best MPG of 15. 14 might be average in my crew cab. I actually have a rebuilt tranny for that...- ne_plus_ultra_1

1997 body, 1994 IDI wiring. I believe the switch worked well before conversion so I will chase wires first. I guess I should consult wiring diagrams for wire colors...? Good suggestions. The first thing I did was check the timing on my serendipity. It was good so I checked the air in the back tire. Really I did start with checking bulb (brand new but checked anyway) and socket to which there is no voltage. I didn't start chasing wires or anything.- ne_plus_ultra_1

Against all advice and logic and out of desperation I finally used starting fluid, just a shot. It fired up instantly, ran great, continued to work and started up every time after that as well. Hah! "Tanks for setting me straight" Both lines are 5/16" - delivery and return. It was only drawing vacuum, no flow. Like it was stopped up or something. Strangely this problem has evaporated. 94f450sd, The through firewall connectors are different and of a different shape as well. If you can put a square peg in a round hole, be my guest. I personally can't figure how you will put different shape connectors through the firewall without cutting. And for geonc, the column has 4 nuts...- ne_plus_ultra_1

I just did the opposite swap: IDI turbo into 1997 f350. Fuel lines in different locations, exhaust very different diameter, downpipe different, must splice radiator hoses or replace radiator, 1992 will have completely different through-firewall connectors and you'll have to cut holes in...- ne_plus_ultra_1
