I saw a coolent system PSI guage 20 years ago when looking at a friends BlueBird diesel pusher motorhome.
First and only one I have ever seen in a factory gage cluster.
Where did you find a DT466 with a torque rating of 1600 ft/lbs?
The first generation of Dt466 were around 600ft/lbs and looking at new engine specs I dont see where they have achived 1000 ft/lbs rating yet.
Have I missed something?
Deere no longer supplies parts for DB pumps but the pumps are still shown in parts.
The pump service info you seek is shown in Deere tech manual " Diesel fuel systems repair"
My copy is 33 yrs old but as of last yr it was still available. You need to find a better Deere dealer.
The pump plungers can stick in their bores if these pumps set for a long time.
I have seen this with several pumps over the yrs.
FYI.... A DB pump service is available from Stanadyne. You just need talk to your local pump shop into ordering you one.
A DB pump service manual is also...
there are also belt buckles and such from when the Springfield Oh foundry closed.
There are a few items floating around the Indy area commemorating the closure of the IH engine plant which produced the IDI.
Never saw a S1600 with a DT466. In 1983 they were powered with a 6.9 and the 9 liter was used in S1700 and larger.
I dont think a DT was available until the S1900 and larger.
Maybe this "jerk" was just a employee who was doing his job and looking out for his employers........ shame on him for uncovering the truth of your trying to buy a GV unit for the price of a tail shaft.
Sounds like someone I want to hire.
Just wondering how long its been since you brought that reman engine? Franklin Power Products was located in Franklin Indiana and closed its doors going on 2 yrs now.
They paid good money for rebuildable cores until they closed.
I live just east of Indianapolis and this story of the IH engine plant shuting down was headlines in the Indianapolis Star a week ago. This plant started building engines in the 30s. Its a old building and a union shop.
The Star also told us that IH has a much newer non union show in the...
I lose no fuel milage if driven normal but its tough doing that.
the problem with a DB4 setup is you then have 2 adjustment screws for fuel rate instead of 1 as on a DB2. its a bit harder to adjust as both need turned equal amounts or close to.
to be honest guys out side of notes I have wrote in a old DB pump service manual and the knowlege I and others pooled together over the yrs. I know of no "tech" write up but thats something to think about.
Maybe at some point I can do some pics of mods that were made and the why of it. some...
I look at it this way....... if a guy is capable of turning up a injection pump, replacing him own head gaskets, rebuilding his own engine ect ect then he is capable of doing some injection pump mods. some on this site can/are capable of repairing a pump.
I never ment to imply that...
IThis site is about info and I posted what I know to be true and what works for ME.
I dont care that you sell pumps. I am sorry that you were never able to repair one to you liking with out removing and installing on your truck several times.
there is a interest here in how to get more...
by the way mel..... your one of the people who slamed me hardest when this same subject came up on another diesel site a few years back.
Ken and a few others did/ were interested in what we had done with pumps and I shared then info with them.
but you go ahead and keep selling your moose...
ok Mel....... you believe what ever you want to but tractor pullers no longer use rotary pumps having moved to inlines long ago so no one is really guarding the info but for maybe you and your moose pump builder.
Kens removing the vane pump and fuel pressure regulator is not a new trick as we tractor pullers learned years ago about removing it as it created a restriction to a hi GPM supply pump.
we tractor pullers who have been building these pumps for years and not to step on anyones toes but the...
