How much voltage and when to glow plugs

I don't believe there should be any voltage except when using the button Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    7.3 oil cooler problem

Is the oil getting in the coolant? If so, the 2 orings at each end of the cooler separate the oil and coolant passages. With age, the orings harden and lose the sealing capability. Since oil pressure is higher than coolant pressure, oil will bleed into coolant but not vice versa Sent from my...

    7.3 oil cooler problem

Sorry about that. What icanfixall said. Some have used a vice to hold the cooler and a piece of 2x4 with a hammer to knock the headers off. Make sure the cooler and header mating surfaces are free of any burrs before installing the new orings. My personal preference is to use a hydraulic press...

    Rear shocks

I tow up to roughly 12k with monroematic shocks on the f250 2wd. On the f350 4wd, it has seen almost 20k with gas magnums. No problems with either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Rear shocks

It depends on what you use the truck for. If you tow a lot, I use Monroe gas magnum heavy duty shocks. For my run around truck, I use the monroematic shocks, as they don't bounce you a lot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Need advice

First off, sorry for the delay. Secondly, all pushrods are clean. I am starting to wonder if I wouldn't be better off putting the motor out of Ol Blue in it and be done.

    Need advice

I purchased a 92' cclb f350 7.3 5speed 4x4 back in march, and have been slowly getting it in good running condition(batteries, rebuilt the oil cooler, a few other minor things). I oulled the valve cover off, just to check it over, and it is not getting any oil to the roker arms. Any ideas...

Reason to pump your own fuel, OR residents.

DEF will crystallize when mixed with diesel. That is one of the main reasons the repair is really expensive on vehicles that have been mixed. Also, FYI, it is just under $12,000 to have a 6.7L Ford fixed when you do that. That consists of all new inector lines, injectors, high pressure pump...

7.3 turbo idi, bad miss, injector? no compression?

    Black smoke

Well, finally took my truck to work. IP timing was way out. Set it to 9.3 degrees( i think), and it idles way better. Now i have to turn the pump back up. The black smoke is gone, so is the little knocking sound, and i'll find out in the morning if it starts without all the white smoke. Thanks...

    Black smoke

I used only Ford parts, clamps included. Since I work for Ford, I try to use as many oem parts as I can. I turned it towards the firewall. I've had my share of those "pantload" moments before. As for EGT's, I have no clue. A pyro is on my shopping list of things to do before I put it on the road.

    Black smoke

The injectors were torqued to 37 ft lbs per the workshop manual. The injectors not only got new orings, but connectors, hose, and clamps. But just to cover all the bases, I'll check for bubbles around the injector bores. Installed brand new copper injector seals from work. I slightly...

    Black smoke

The injectors weren't tested. I dont know how long they sat for, but if it helps, I've put the 30K on them during the 2 years I've owned the f250. Unless you mean sat since they were last used? If so, I've put about 5 miles and roughly 75 gallons of fuel through them in the past six months or...

    Black smoke

The air filter housing is just that, and its clean. The one that came on the truck was bent up, so I grabbed the one off my f250 and stuck on it. Yes, I took the side cover plate off. 2=1/4" head bolts, then a 5/32" allen wrench for the screw.

    Black smoke

I dont have the equipment to time it. I'll have to check at work to see if we have a timing meter for it. The air filter has less than 2000 miles on it(borrowed it from my other truck because I thought the same thing).
  20. Idi93

    Black smoke

If I am correct, to tun the fuel down, you turn the fuel screw counter-clockwise(allen wrench towards the firewall). If so, I have already turned it down two flats.

    Black smoke

I have a 92' CC 7.3 NA 4x4 5spd w/4.10s. I have put a new return line setup(had leaks), known good injectors w/30K on them(massive white smoke on startup and what sounded like an injector knock), tested glow plugs(all .4-.5 Ohms), good GPC. All of that is good, except it still has a slight...

I know this isnt the right forum, Urea in diesel fuel

The best thing is to just get new fuel. Diesel exhaust fluid(urea) will crystallize in diesel fuel and take out any component it runs through(pump, injectors, sensors, and if run long enough, the motor). I personally wouldnt use the contaminated fuel for anything more than bonfire starter fluid.
  23. Idi93

    Starter Fluid?

WD40 used to work, but it doesnt use propane as a propellant anymore. What I've used in the past was a little cetane boost(diesel kleen).

    What is this stuff?

The last black box(10D840) picture is the warning chime module. The second picture if I'm not mistaken is the cruise control module. The first may be a cruise control relay. I can double check when I open up at work tomorrow(Ford Parts Manager). On the relay, see if there is any numbers on it...

    Oil getting in the coolant

Well, got the orings changed out, bolted back in, now it looks like I'm puking oil between the front header and the block. I'm guessing I screwed up the gasket. Any other ideas?
