put alittle oil down that cyl. then retry your compression test,i doubt it will make a difference due to you having no compression. if it goes up then you have ring(s) issue. as far as a leak down test ive never had any issues performing one. pull the valve cover and turn engine till both valves...

if you havent figured out the code it is a code for a short to ground on j1850,meaning the ecm is detecting a short on the j1850.it is the communication between the ecm and all other modules.

unfortunately up here in the north east most of the vehicles have severe rust problems,im dealing with it with my 92 cummins.the rust gets so bad that there really is nothing left to work with.
still waiting on the guy from south carolina about trading my dodge for his powerstroke but if it lands up that i keep my dodge i would be interested in rolling chassis and cab. would need to find a shipper who would do it though.
