strange leak in TC 1356 shaft/yoke
its not leaking around the shaft seal, the seal is new and the yoke shaft is flawless. figured out what it was, i took off the shaft, removed the u joint, and pressurized the interior of the spline tube. there is a sheet metal plug pressed into the bottom of the spline tube that was loose...- romulus

i have fluid leaking from my transfer case. it looks like its coming out of the spline tube where it transitions into the ujoint yoke. there is a metal plug, kinda like a freeze plug, in the end of the spline tube, hence the u joint is throwing fluid everywhere. i just replaced the bushing...- romulus

4.10 and 3.55 comparison.
i wish i didn't have to rev so high going down the freeway at 75. would love a 2spd rearend how can i tell what ratios i have? mine is a 93 factory turbo, ZF5 4x4, dana 50 ifs, don't know what the rear end is- romulus

Clicking Glow Plugs?
yep i had the same symptom when i first bought my truck many years ago. it had autolite gp's installed by the PO.... and they are complete junk, you see the difference in the build quality compared to the oem plugs....and they are made in germany, gotta love that. i also replaced the relay...- romulus

i had the same problem, although i have a dana 50 ifs. rather than diagnosing every little problem, i just replaced the steering box, all ball joints, and rod ends, pivot bushings, spring and shackle bushings. total cost in parts was about 500 bucks, and a weekend of hard labor,smashed...- romulus

looks like i have one stock camber adjuster and one aftermarket adjustable one. think i'm going to have to pull the axels and hubs again and work on those adjusters and perhaps replace the stocker with an adjustable one. i am sure they are both seized/rusted together. the guys at the...- romulus

yes but i wanted to make sure the camber adjusters were not seized before i took it to the alignment shop....afraid they might go medieval on it and mess up my brand new joints. i've never moved them so i don't know if i have to break the joints loose before i can spin the adjusters.- romulus

BW 1356 TC cracked!
for my first attempt i'm going to bore a thru hole and thread the inside of the plug with a smaller dia thread and JB weld the whole plug in the case so the threads will seal along the crack, basically using the old plug as a threaded insert. then the crack width will stabilize and the JB can...- romulus

i just finished replacing the following on my dana50 IFS (it forgot straight) all 4 ball joints...moog 4 tie rod ends and drag links...moog steering box.... summit racing both pivot bushings...energy suspension all 6 spring eye bushings and shackle bushings...energy suspension and now...- romulus

BW 1356 TC cracked!
i noticed my TC was leaking fluid, so i replaced the tailshaft bushing and oil seal...... still leaks. then i noticed that the case was cracked right under the drain plug boss, from the face of the plug to 1/2" toward the front. looks like i put too much teflon tape on it many years ago...- romulus

if i had it to do over again i would make a 3 incher. i have a banks DP in my garage awaiting install so i'm going to use it. i just bought it about a month ago. somebody here mod'd a powerstroke DP, looks like a better option if you can keep it clear of the firewall when the engine is...- romulus

i have exactly the same issue. i just replaced all 4 ball joints, all 4 rod ends, and steering box...... checked, re-packed and re-torqued my spindle bearings and i still have the same clunk as you describe. my front u-joints are nearly new. so this weekend i'm replacing both pivot...- romulus
