Yea, those are gussets for the bottom of the winch plate. I didn't trust the 1/2" plate butt welded to the front Xmember
Should be good now!
Lots of progress today.
Shackles are now boxed in, hood is finished(underneath)
Found a POR15 rubberized coating!
Cured all my issues with painting upside down.
Gonna paint the entire bottom of the truck with it.
It may be rattle can. But it lays down nice.
Here is some truck **** for YA!

hoping to get the door jambs painted, so i can do another steam cleaning on the bottom and frame next week.
after that, time to rip the axles out and then its allll down hill

Thanks , but I was hoping for something that just needed an engine and interior type work. I suck at glassing.

Brian, are you sure your 3" x 4" tube across the front is strong enough for the winch mount? I'd almost be worried that you'd pull it into a curve in a hard pull.... Just my 2c

Looking great tho!!

its 2 x 3 x 1/4"
with the gussets, and the 3 9/16" bolts in the front of the bumper, it should be pretty stout!

One problem with a 6 door truck is the number of door jambs...
