Holset hx50 turbo, is it to big??

My buddy tells me he can get a turbo for me from a mack truck, he said it's a hx50 and it's in great shape. I know nothing about turbo sizes and such, so i'm wondering before i pop on it is it worth buying and will it work on my truck if i custom mount it under the truck.. The plan would be to mount it under the truck or in the bed, and run my long tube headers in conjunction with it.. I've been doing alott of thinkig about diferant ways to force air into it latly, and this is just an idea.. So anyone got advice on this hx50 turbo??

I wont profess to know all on this, however I have studied the Holset turbos a decent amount. IMO the 50 will not be the more ideal option for our motors when in a single charger application.

According to holset an HX 40 would be the best for our motors.
