ZD1A versus ZD9 GP?

Someone here in my neck of the woods has 7 new F2TZ-12A342 Motorcraft ZD9 glow plugs for sale sealed in individual bags for 25 bucks. I would definitely like to buy these, but I need to know if I can make them work with my 86 6.9? I have a manual GP button. Thanks!

If you are using a manual button to trigger them, it should be a simple matter of rigging up a set of adapters to work with the round ends. Just get a box of male blade connectors and a box of female bullet connectors and some wire the same gauge as your harness and seal the connectors to the wire with some heat shrink tubing ( or get the fancy connectors that have it built in ) and make up some little adapter pigtails to plug in to your harness, that way you can remove the adapters if you get the original type plugs next time

Got the glow plugs. Good times! Now hopefully I can get the old ones out of the block!

If condition is questionable, before you try to start, get a can of Aero Kroil and soak the threads at least overnight before starting and if one doesn't want to come out, STOP< you will need a set of these critters To help remove the thing, and it will take a few days, but they can be removed safely without having to pull the head.

i got some zd9's recently too, great plugs. if i saw them i would have snagged them too probably being in salem and all
